Guidelines
- Please stick generally to the subject of your e-mail list. For example, no "for sale" items (unless they pertain to the subject, such as text books) or political commentary, please!
- Please include in your e-mail "signature" your name and position. That will help us all figure out who is who.
- Remember that potentially this is a list of a number of educators, so posts should be of general interest. Please send personal e-mail directly to the person's private e-mail address.
- Identify the subject of your post in the Subject line.
- Please avoid posting "me too" messages, i.e., short replies that go to the entire list just to say that you agree.
- When you reply to a message, quote the essence of the message in your reply. Don't quote the entire original message--only the minimum amount of text necessary to make it clear what you are replying to.
- Please use "bottom posting" (post after quoted material). This emulates the normal flow of conversation. When you reply to a post, first quote, then reply. If you are uncertain how this works, lurk for a while and watch how it's done. Many e-mail clients handle this for you semi-automatically.
- Please limit attachments to PDF files of less than 1 MB. If possible, avoid using an attachment by embedding the information in the body of your e-mail message or posting it to a website and including a link.
- No flaming, i.e., no harsh, abusive mail, including name-calling, personal attacks, baiting or inflammatory speech.
- Please use upper and lower case letters in your writing. Don't use all capitals. If you are using text-based e-mail, use *asterisks* around text you wish to emphasize.
- If you see a problem or issue with the list, please contact the moderator privately.
- You may unsubscribe (change your user profile) at any time that the list you are subscribed to no longer meets your needs.
With everyone working together, we hope you find the list interesting, educational and enjoyable.
