End of Session Evaluation
It is the expectation for anyone who is offering professional learning for our agency to collect both end of session formative data and end of course summative data regarding participant learning with respect to identified session or course learning goals and outcomes.
The purpose of the End of Session Evaluation is for a professional learning provider to gather formative data to help the instructor identify what their participants learned and determine participant needs for upcoming sessions.
End of Session Evaluation tools and procedures
Formative data will be collected at the conclusion of all AEA 267 sponsored professional learning sessions. This includes all learning opportunities, (courses, workshops, learning teams)
- These data can be collected via paper and pencil or electronically using the following options such as:
- Key Survey
- Paper and pencil
- Logged Interviews with participants
- Google Forms/Survey
Please retain all formative data throughout the life of the course or learning.
At the end of Course, Professional Learning Providers will be summarizing their course data in a summative format. These formative data will help with that summary.
If a Professional Learning Provider chooses to use the Key Survey for gathering the formative data after sessions, please refer to the following guidance:
Hardcopies of the specific instructions for creating a key survey are located in the following links. (Updated 3/17/15)
Guideline for gathering good formative data at the end of sessions:
Professional Learning Providers may refer to our End of Session Evaluation Form.
Professional Learning Providers please remember to ask questions pertaining to your goals and objectives for each session
Instructors please remember to use open ended questions in your collection of data
- Professional Learning Providers please keep your end of session data during the entire length of the course.
Professional Learning providers are expected to review the resulting End of Session Evaluation data ASAP after the session to assist with continuous improvement and future planning efforts and refer to the formative data in their summative report. An example of how teams may choose to organize their data is included here.
